Friedrichsbad Classic Spa

"Here at the Friedrichsbad you lose track of time within 10 minutes and track of the world within 20…" (Mark Twain)

I was able to have 2 sessions at the Friedrichbad in April, 2006 as part of research for a hydrotherapy textbook.

The Friedichsbad Class Spa is world famous as has been in operation for more than 125 years. It is based on Roman traditions for spa and wellness and it is built next to a Roman spa & wellness center from the ancient past. A session at the spa last about 3 hours and consists of 16 stages. Men and women are separate for the warm air and steam rooms, but come together in the central pools. The water is the natural mineral hot springs water and is not treated as it has a very high flow-through rate.
